Each week, children participate in hands-on activities, meet live animals, and explore topics like habitats, adaptations, conservation, and animal care. Our lessons are designed to make learning fun and interactive, while encouraging your child’s love for nature and desire to learn more.

Absolutely. Zoo Club follows strict safety protocols, and all live animal interactions are guided by trained and trustworthy animal handlers to ensure a safe and positive experience for every child.

Zoo Club is hosted at various partner locations within the San Antonio area, and the exact site depends on the session you register for. All available locations and times are posted on the Once in a Wild website.

Zoo Club is a year round program that your child would attend weekly. Each session lasts for an hour.

Sessions are led by trained zookeepers with live animal ambassadors and guided activities designed for the age group.

Zoo Club welcomes children of many ages, but we typically recommend ages 2nd grade and up, unless otherwise discussed.

Regardless of age, activities and interactions are adjusted to ensure that every child participates in ways that are safe, engaging, and appropriate for them.

*Disclaimer: Parents or guardians must stay on-site during the duration of their child’s zoo club.

Each registered student receives interactive animal lessons and activities, a Zoo Club T-shirt, and digital photos to capture memories with the animals, (these are emailed directly to the parent about every 5-10 weeks or so.)

Activities support TEKS-aligned learning through biology, conservation, animal care, and foundational zoology concepts.

We are licensed with the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) & ACS (Animal Care Services) of Bexar County to ensure the health, safety, and legality of our animals. We are also fully insured for everyone’s safety.

The initial registration of $250.00 includes 10 weeks of classes. After that, it is $100.00 per month (or $25.00 per class). If a student misses a class after registration or their monthly payment, unfortunately there are no refunds. Therefore, we do not pay you back for absences. However, please always try to let us know if your child will be absent from zoo club week to week, so we know whether or not to expect you. Thank you for understanding.
