FUN FACTS

When threatened, Crested Geckos may go through what is known as “tail autotomy,” which is when they completely drop their entire tail in order to evade a predator. Though many other lizard species also exhibit this ability, Crested Geckos are one of the few that lack the capacity thereafter to regenerate the tail, so they would only have the chance to use this survival technique one time.
