Cochineala – A Creative Confluence Festival of Nature and Art: Bioluminescence

Join us for an enchanting evening of nature and art at Cochineala, a Creative Confluence Festival. Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing world of bioluminescent organisms and experience the magic they bring to our planet.

Discover the wonders of bioluminescence through an illuminated firefly performance, interactive art activities, and educational presentations. Marvel at the glowing beauty of nature as you explore the diverse adaptations of bioluminescent organisms.

Engage with artists and experts who will share their knowledge and passion for the natural world. Learn about the ecological significance of bioluminescence and its role in various ecosystems and learn how YOU can become a community scientist using iNaturalist and the City Nature Challenge.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to witness the mystical glow of bioluminescence and gain a deeper appreciation for the wonders of our planet. Join us at the Cochineala Nature and Art Series: Bioluminescence event for an unforgettable evening of nature-inspired art and exploration.

The event is FREE and open to the public! Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

At 9:00 PM, enjoy “Lights in Play” by the URBAN-15
Performance Ensemble that incorporates dance, music,
video projections and mirrors into an ambient
percussion and electronic soundscape with
light-emitting creatures projected into the dome of
Confluence Park’s brilliant architecture and onto the
dance floor.

*Please bring a blanket or chair for watching stage performances, a water bottle, and any textile you want printed with our luminescent logo.
